HAMILL, BERYL (DORSEY)

The funeral for Beryl (Dorsey) Hamill Lawless of Summerside’s Andrew’s Lodge and formerly of Middleton was held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from the Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora to St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora where the funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Doug MacDonald who proclaimed the gospel and delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by daughters, Carol Anne Edwards, Sandra McCourt and Milly Hamill. Cross bearer was Peter Roberts. Altar servers were Neville Lawless and Frank McCardle. The first scriptural reading from Thessalian’s was proclaimed by Kim Murphy and the second scriptural reading from Romans was proclaimed by Allyson McCarron. Prayers of the faithful were led by Kelli Matheson. The choir was led by Doreen Mulligan assisted by combined choirs of the parishes who sang the following songs: Entrance hymn, Be Not Afraid; offertory hymn, Peace Is Flowing Like a River; responsori­al hymn, The Lord is My Shepherd, and recessiona­l hymn, How Great Thou Art. Hail Mary, Gentle Woman was rendered by soloist Doreen Mulligan. Organist was Joan Gauvin. Honorary pall bearers were all attending Beryl’s funeral mass. Pallbearer­s were Jeff McCourt, Kris Pauptit, Blair Dorsey, Paul Dorsey, Inge Dorsey Kelly and Mary Lou Hamill. Flower bearers were grand daughters Michelle McCourt, Tammy Kerwin, Kim Murphy, Ally McCarron and Kelli Matheson. Eucharisti­c ministers were Paula Smith and Betty Smith. Forming an honor guard at the funeral liturgy were members of the CWL. Interment will be later in the parish cemetery.
