BridgeFest will be bringing Burton Cummings to Summerside on June 17 when he’ll be headlining a concert at Credit Union Place to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Confederation Bridge.

BridgeFest is back with Burton Cummings headlining a concert that marks the 20th anniversary of the Confederation Bridge.

East Coast Production Group president Joe Keenan said Cummings is the perfect artist to headline the event.

“He is unrivaled in the music world and continues to prove that by performing night after night with the crowd held in the palm of his hand,” Keenan said.

Cummings, the former frontman for The Guess Who, is recognized as one of the finest voices in rock and is known for songs like “Break It To Them Gently”, “Dream Of A Child”, “Fine State of Affairs”, “Clap For The Wolfman, Dancin’ Fool”, “Stand Tall” and “These Eyes.”

This year BridgeFest 150 runs June 16 to 18 and also commemorates Canada’s 150th birthday.

Events will take place in Borden-Carleton and Summerside, including the June 17 concert at Credit Union Place that will also feature Jimmy Rankin. The singer-songwriter has had five Juno awards, East Coast Music Awards, and, having recently been named 2012’s Roots Artist of the Year for the second consecutive year and a total of 7 Canadian Country Music Awards.

Tickets go on sale March 24 at 10 a.m. and will be available at the Credit Union Place box office, by telephone at 1-855985-5000 or online at ecpg.ca.
