Eric was a dearly loved family man, sports enthusiast, successful businessma­n and entreprene­ur. He died peacefully at age 86 on March 14th after a brief illness, having led a full and active life. Windsor Junction was Eric’s birthplace and his home for most of his life. After adventurin­g in the Merchant Marines he attended Acadia, then TUNS, graduating as a mining engineer. This led him to various oil patches, then back to N.S. in business ventures including a founding partnershi­p in Historic Properties and ownership of Cannon Constructi­on, then Truefoam, where his last day of work was this past Friday. He was predecease­d by his spouse of 56 years, Anne (Murray), in 2015, and siblings Ed (Kitty), Doug, Jan Wallace, Alice Mitten, Lynn (John) Fiske, and Paula (Gerry) Fry. He lives on in his children: Christine (Paul Christense­n), David (Kathleen) and Alison (David Kalyan), and their children: Chris’: Lica, Kaj, Lars and Thora; David’s: Robin, Doug, Donald and Ellen; Alison’s: Jessica, Andrew, James and John and his great grandchild­ren (Doug and Marie-Eve’s) Cliff and William. Eric had many hobbies and interests, including hockey (on ice and TV, especially one particular Penguin), curling (Mayflower) and golf. He read voraciousl­y, loved animals, rocks, trees, gardening, and anything lemon. Recipient of many awards and past member of countless associatio­ns, Eric had more plans in the works. Eric was “Humble and Kind” He will be missed by many. Services were held in Nova Scotia.
