Summerside police investigat­e armed robbery

The robbery occurred at Subway on Water Street Saturday evening

Summerside Police Services are investigat­ing an armed robbery that occurred at Subway on Water Street, Saturday at 9:15 p.m.

A man entered the store demanding money, and showed the employee what is believed to be a handgun. He then left the store with an undisclose­d amount of cash. No one was injured. The suspect is a black male, stocky build, approximat­ely 5’10’, with some facial hair. At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing an orange hoodie underneath a black coat and light blue baggy jeans. The orange hood covered his head and part of his face.
