The funeral for Calvin J. Butler was held Wednesday April 19, 2017 from the West Prince Funeral Home to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Albin Arsenault who also delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendation and farewell. The first reading was read by Destiny Arsenault. The second reading was read by Judy Wells. The prayers of the faithful were read by Terrilynn Chaisson. The choir sang under the direction of Velda Gallant accompanied by organist Anita Doucette. Processional hymn was “Amazing Grace”. Psalm was “Yes I shall arise and return to my Father”. Offertory hymn was “Here, I Am Lord”. Communion hymn was “Song of the Good Shepherd”. Farewell song was “Songs of the Angels” and recessional hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. Altar servers were LeRoy Doucette, Roy McKenna and Francis Gaudet. Eucharistic ministers were Claudia Gaudet, Stella Allain and Helen McKenna. The urn was carried by son Gordon Butler, picture by daughter April Butler and flowers by Lukas, Logan and Seawana Butler. Representatives from Tignish Co-op, Home Hardwares and Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary were in attendance. Interment will take place at a later date.
