Lovely Witches launch
Real-life creativity community launch webseries and relaunch club
Last week, the Lovely Witches Club, a real-life creativity community, launched episode one of their webseries of the same name, in partnership with the relaunch of their website and club.
Co-creators Renee Laprise and Patti Larsen were delighted to release their new series. “We’re very excited about the entire project,” says Larsen. “The LWC has been a passion of ours since we launched our first Witches Ball in 2009. We love everything about the creative community that’s grown out of that initial idea, and this chance to turn the brand into a webseries gave us the opportunity to reach even more lovely witches.”
Episode one went live May 1 and can be found on their website, http://lovelywitchesclub.com/webseries. Their new pay-what-you-wish format for the live action club was also launched May 1 at http://lovelywitchesclub.com/the-club and offers a forum for sharing artwork, writing and other creative innovations among members as well as content from Laprise and Larsen.
It is their aim to continue to foster a fun, engaging and exciting community that grows its already international membership.
The new webseries received assistance from Telefilm Canada, the Talent Fund and Innovation P.E.I.
The Lovely Witches Club was conceived as a way to gather like-minded women together, a forum for expressive and enthusiastic creativity. It was about expression and acceptance, dressing up and having fun, sharing and being connected. The group very quickly gained an active online social media presence, with over 250 international members and lots of interaction.
Laprise has been in television and Internet media production for over 15 years as an editor and now director and creative producer. She has an extensive network of gifted artists who help her create the content, and, as a practising artist, she said she infuses her work with artistic flair and a touch of magic.
Larsen is an award-winning author with a passion for the paranormal with multiple series in publication.
