The Largely attended funeral for the late Edward Joseph Arsenault, beloved husband to Beatrice nee Harper Arsenault of Broderick Road Tignish was held on Friday May 5, 2017 from the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton, to St. Simon and St. Jude Church Tignish where funeral mass was celebrated at 6 p.m. by the Rev. Brendon Gallant who delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The Pascal candle was lit by wife Beatrice, and daughters, Cindy, Lisa, Tanya and Julie. The first reading was addressed by June Gaudet. The second reading was addressed by Leah Doyle. The prayers of the faithfull were invited by Peggy McCarthy. The Gifts were presented at the Alter by Ashley and Jorrdyn Brennan, Avery Arsenault and Connor Ellsworth. The Eucharisti­c ministers were Marjorie Jeffery and Mary Bernard. The crucifer was Richard Shea.The candle bearers were Charles Bernard and Neil LeClair.The Alter server was James Hogan. The choir was under the direction of the cantor Vincent Doucette. The organist was Antoinette Perry. The prelude was I Know a Man who can. The procession­al hymn was Amazing Grace. The psalm was The Lord is my Shepherd, The offertory hymn was I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say. The Communion hymn was Like a Shepherd. The post Communion hymn “Go Rest High on that Mountain” was rendered by soloist Abby Peters accompanie­d on guitar by Rodney Arsenault .The song of fairwell was songs of the Angels .The recessiona­l hymn was We Shall Go Out. The Honorary pallbearer­s were, James Doucette, Nelson Shea, Jackie Morrissey, Clifford Harper, Donald Harper, Warren Harper, Hubert Fraser, Kenneth Gaudet, Arthur Gaudet, Harold McCarthy, Roger Chaisson, Rodney Doucette, Danny McDonald, Elmer Perry .The Urn Bearer was brother Johnny Arsenault. The pallbearer­s were Ricky Brennan, Bill Polley, Troy Ellsworth, Jake Arsenault, Nathan Brennan Alex Brennan. The flower bearers were Ashley Brennan, Shauna Brennan, Gabbie Brennan, Avery Arsenault, Connor Ellsworth, Willie Gaudet, Benji Gaudet, Josh Arsenault, Jody Arsenault. Interment was in the church Cemetery with Rev. Brendon Gallant officiatin­g. Following the comittal service, Blair Gaudet accompanie­d by Marcella Gaudet rendered a compositio­n by Blair called “Fisher Dad”
