The six-year-old bay gelding by Western-Paradise-Southview Sasha-Matts Scooter stopped the clock in 1:57.1 in Race 9 on Monday’s Victoria Day matinee.

It was also the fastest mile on the 10-dash card. Veteran driver Gary Chappell steered the Wade Sorrie-trained Pictonian Storm to the winner’s circle for owner Walter Simmons of Summerside.

Ken Murphy drove Machinthes­and, an eight-year-old bay gelding, to a place finish while Mando Fun, a fouryear-old brown gelding, was third in the five-horse $2,000 pace.

Im On Schedule (2:01 – a new race-win record), Bignprecio­us (2:00.3 – a new race-win record), Howmac Missy (1:58.3), Kiss My Sass (2:02.2 – a maiden record), Bowyer Hanover (1:58.4), Sandinista (1:58.4 – a new race-win record), Southfield Sassy (1:58.4), Relleno Hanover (1:59.2) and Chevalier Semalu (1:58.3).

Dale Spencer and Marc Campbell each recorded driving doubles.

The total wager was $23,893. The second of 30 live presentati­ons in Summerside this season is scheduled for Sunday, with the Ruby Chappell and Bob Dewar Memorial Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies and colts featured.
