Rotarians, students, government officials and community members will plant over 100 trees to celebrate the occasion. “We wanted to do something that would engage not just our club members but also the next generation of Rotarians,” said Robert Moffatt, Chair of the Rotary Centennial Committee.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Rotary’s contributions over the last century than by planting new life and leaving a legacy in our communities.” Summerside planted their trees around 4 p.m. at the Rotary Friendship Park. “We’re proud to mark our centennial year by planting more trees in Summerside,” said Craig Harris, member of the Rotary Club of Summerside. “The Rotary Friendship Park is one of the most utilized green spaces in the city and we’re excited to add to it in this way… It’s a way we can leave a legacy together.”
