Centennial Carstar can handle any repair

-

Centennial Carstar can fix more than a fender bender – they’ll take care of the headache that goes with it, too.

For over 35 years, the familyowned collision centre operating out of Summerside, Charlottetown, Moncton and Dieppe has restored vehicles of all makes and models for every type of repair, including frame straightening, glass replacement, and stone chips.

But Summerside manager Zach Gallant said they’re more than happy to go above and beyond.

“Sometimes people come directly here because they don’t know what to do. We’ll help them with the process of calling their insurance company. Most times we switch keys and look after all the leg work for them.”

Gallant said it turns a nightmare into a seamless process for customers.

“A lot of people may have paid insurance for years and never had an accident. We know how the whole process works.”

Carstar strives to go the extra mile for every customer and no job is too big or too small, he said.

“We do any type of body work. Stone chips on your hood or fenders, a cracked fender from hitting a snowbank, or small dents.”

It’s common to ignore something as small as a glass chip, but something as simple as change in weather or the vehicle hitting a bump and twisting the frame can turn a small job into something worse. Gallant recommended a chip of any size to bring the vehicle in, just to be on the safe side.

“Cars are a big investment. The second biggest investment in most people’s lives, next to buying a house. You want to keep the value.”

A rental company, PractiCar, is also available within the body shop’s with approximately 180 vehicles to choose from while waiting for repair. Gallant said he can’t remember a vehicle that was beyond repair.

“We don’t really run into challenges to fix cars to be honest. I can’t think of a challenge repairing a vehicle. We’ve done motor homes and four-wheelers, and I’d say they’re a little more of a challenge. But with cars it’s second nature.” Customers are amazed when they receive their vehicle to find all traces of an accident has disappeared, Gallant said.

“We have really good employees, with lots of experience. We have guys here with 40 years experience. To be the best you have to employ the best.”
