Confederation Players off to perform in Ottawa and Montreal
While their performances at the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown won’t begin until July 1, the Confederation Players are travelling to Quebec and Ontario to perform this week as the Fathers and ladies of Confederation.
With Canada 150 celebrations in full stride, the Confederation Players are preparing for their most dynamic season yet.
While their performances at the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown won’t begin until July 1, the players will travel to Quebec and Ontario to perform in early June through a CN sponsored program.
On May 29, the group left the Island for Montreal, riding a special anniversary train filled with municipal leaders from Eastern Canada.
On May 31 the players will leave Montreal bound for Ottawa and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference where they will perform for more than 1,500 municipal leaders.
“I invite those in Ottawa to come out and welcome the Players while they are in the capital to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation,” said Jessie Inman, CEO of Confederation Centre of the Arts. The 13-member group will perform throughout the week of the conference, with three public opportunities to see the troupe.
On June 2, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. they will perform at Inspiration Village as well as June 3 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Then on June 4 they perform on the steps of Parliament from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
