Recognition
Certificates were presented to the following skaters who set new provincial records during the year:
Peter McQuaid – Intermediate men 1,000m.
Matt Kozma – 15-year-old boys, 400m and 1,500m.
Jenna Larter – 14-year-old girls 1,500m.
Kyle Connell – 14-year-old boys 200m and 400m.
Thomas McQuaid – 14-year-old boys 1,500m.
Andrew Binns – 13-year-old boys 200m, 400m, 1,500m and juvenile boys 1000m.
William Lyons – 12-year-old boys 1,500m.
Sarah Taylor – Masters women 30-34 years 500m, 777m, 1,000m and 1,500m.
Rob Binns – Masters Men 40-44 years 500m and 1000m.
New relay records were set in two age groups.
A 12/13-year-old boys relay team consisting of Carter Bruce, William Lyons and Andrew Binns set a new provincial record in the 3,000m relay. The team of Matt Kozma, Kyle Connell and Thomas McQuaid also broke the record in the 14/15-year-old boys category. Trophies were also presented to skaters based on their relative time improvements demonstrated throughout the season. Award winners included:
Gold – Jenna Larter, Olivia Wood and Chloe Pineau.
Silver – Liam Chatfield, Holly Nickerson and Dora Song.
Bronze – Matthew McKenna, Zack O’Meara and Orion van der Gaag.
