Ross Family’s sold-out shows move to Clinton Hills

Opening night for summer ceilidhs happening June 19

-

Step into a foot-stomping celebration of cracking tunes, high-energy fiddling, piano playing and step-dancing performed by the Ross Family.

The talented P.E.I. siblings, comprised of Stephanie, Danielle and Johnny Ross, combine original and traditional material with a twist.

As a result, audience members have returned year after year to hear the masterful blend of Acadian and Scottish sounds plunge them into the East Coast, amid an ambiance of hominess and friendship.

In 2006, a self-managed, annual concert series was born – The Ross Family Ceilidh. This well attended event has become a “must see” in many P.E.I. vacations and has helped the group develop a loyal worldwide following. Some attendees have become “regulars” who return every year, watching the family grow from novice performers into increasingly refined musicians.

In 2017, the group responded to frequently sold-out shows by relocating to a nearby larger venue – Clinton Hills. The team at Clinton Hills promises to enhance the ceilidh by accommodating more people in air-conditioned comfort, adding advance ticket sales, credit/ debit card payments at the door, TV screens and improving food and licensed drink options. The open grounds and rural barn atmosphere, complement the group’s roots music. The new venue, located at 123 Harding Creek Road, is a restored 1959 rustic barn with the backdrop of rolling fields, private woods and the calming Southwest River.

Guests can still expect all the modern amenities and conveniences at Clinton Hills Barn such as, a licensed bar and a buffet meal prepared by Chef Duncan Smith from Broadway 45 Catering served before the fun-packed, lively gathering for all the family to enjoy.

The new venue also offers guests the opportunity to appreciate the Ross Family in a more interactive way, showcasing their talent and passion for performing.

The Ross Family Ceilidh is held every Monday and Wednesday, from June 19 through to Sept. 27. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the upper loft. The buffet meal is available from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the downstairs Stable
