4-H members recognized at provincial selections.

The P.E.I. 4-H Provincial Council held its annual provincial selections drawing club members from across the province to compete in events including skill demonstrat­ions and public speaking categories.

There were also panel interviews for scholarshi­ps as well as national and internatio­nal opportunit­ies for the upcoming year.

Club members also learned if they were chosen to represent P.E.I.

Grace Hughes (North River 4-H Club) and Nicolle MacDonald (Grand River East 4-H Club) will represent P.E.I. at the National 4-H Dairy Conference in Madison, Wisconsin. Brandon Malone (Morell 4-H Club), Kimberly Bain (Dunstaffna­ge-Marshfield 4-H Club), Megan Vanderkloe­t (Dunstaffna­ge-Marshfield 4-H Club), Rhea Gallant (Cavendish 4-H Club), Sophie MacDonald (Grand River East 4-H Club), Nicolle MacDonald (Grand River East 4-H Club) and Bryce Doiron (Pleasant Valley 4-H Club) will attend the 4-H Canada Citizenshi­p Congress held in Ottawa in 2018. Bryce Doiron will also represent the Island at the U.S. National 4-H Members Conference held in Washington, DC.

– Marianna and Emma Visser, Millview-Vernon River 4-H Club: Junior Member, 1st Place Team Demonstrat­ions

– Taia Gallant and Brooklin Richard, Evangeline 4-H Club: Junior Member 2nd Place Team Demonstrat­ions

– Amanda Williams and Lauren Ellis, Ellerslie 4-H Club: Senior Member, 1st Place Team Demonstrat­ions
