Gosbee finishes second behind Fahey

In Cummins 150 on Sunday afternoon

Greg Fahey of St. Stephen, N.B., dominated the Canada Day 150 edition of the Cummins 150 at Speedway 660 on Sunday afternoon. Fahey, in his No. 29 McLaughlin Roof Trusses Ltd Chevrolet, took the lead f rom Dylan Gosbee of Cornwall, on Lap 34, and never looked back.

The Speedway 660 regular led by half a lap at the end of race over Gosbee and Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, N.S. Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, N.S., and Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S., completed the top five.

Other Island drivers in the 19-car race were Greg Proude of Springvale seventh; Terry Dougay of Albany 11th; Kent Vincent of Crapaud 13th, and Darren MacKinnon of Charlottet­own 17th.

Heat races

Atlantic Tiltload heat races determined the starting grid for the Cummins 150. Gosbee, Proude and Butcher were victorious.

Fahey led a total of 117 laps to take home the Linde most laps led award. The King Freight Lines future winner went to Devin Snell of Saint John, N.B., after his career-high sixth-place finish.

The Exide Batteries rookie of the race award was taken home by Nicholas Naugle of Dartmouth, N.S., after finishing in 10th place.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off next weekend as the drivers and teams prepare for the IWK 250 at Riverside Internatio­nal Speedway on July 15. Fans will not want to miss the stars of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour going head to head with NASCAR legend Mark Martin.
