The funeral for the late Doris Ann Dunn, beloved wife of the late Louis Dunn of the Rev .W. J. Phillips Residence Alberton and formerly of Elmsdale was held on Friday, morning June, 30, 2017 from the Rooney Funeral Home Alberton to the Sacred Heart Church Alberton where funeral mass of Con-celebratio­n was celebrated at 10:30 a .m. The chief celebrant was Rev. Eric Dunn,nephew of the deceased. The co celebrants were Rev. Andrew MacDonald and the Rev. Albin Arsenault. The Homily was delivered by Father Dunn who also had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The first reading from the Book of Revelation ,” Death will be no More,” was addressed by granddaugh­ter, Susan DunnPrice. The second reading a letter of Saint Paul to the Romans, “Let us Walk in Newness of Life” was addressed by Grandson Dean Gallant. The prayers of the faithfull were invited by Marie Keefe sister of the deceased. The Crucifer was Irving Broderick and the candle bearers were Joe Callaghan and Emile Bernard. The choir was under the direction of Phyllis Matthews. The organist was Diane Handrahan. The Procession­al hymn was This Day God Gives Me. The psalm was The Lord is My Shepherd. The offertory hymn was I Will Never Forget You My People. The Communion hymn was Here I Am Lord. The Post Communion hymn, Hail Mary-Gentle Women was sung by Cheryl Bell (Guitar() and Winnie Gallant (Guitar).The song of fairwell was Songs of the Angels. The recessiona­l hymn was Amazing Grace. Everyone present for the Funeral Liturgy were considered to be Honorary Pallbearer­s. The active pallbearer­s were nephew, Peter Griffin and grandsons, Cody Dunn, Colin Gallant, Chris Gallant, Andrew McCarthy, Robert McCarthy. The flower bearers were Granddaugh­ters, Patti Keough, Jennifer Rozell, Amy Dunn Hannay, Keila Dunn deMerlis, Marsha Dunn, Nikki Dunn, Erica Gallant -Gaudet,Great grandson Brady Gallant & niece Robin Dunn. Interment was in the church cemetery with Rev. Eric Dunn officiatin­g. On Thursday afternoon the Sacred Heart C.W.L held prayers for their departed member at the funeral home under the direction of Jean Cahill, The Scripture was addressed by Bernadette Foley, and prayers by Rev. Andrew MacDonald.
