The funeral for the late Elizabeth Mary Betty Gallant beloved wife of the late Edgar J. Gallant of the Tignish Seniors Coop Home and formerly of Skinners Pond was held on Wednesday morning from the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton to St. Simon and St. Judes Church Tignish, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Brendon Gallant who delivered the Homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The Pascal candle was lit by nephew Aubrey Arsenault. The first reading was addressed by Claudette LeClair. The second reading was addressed by sister in law, Nelda Arsenault who also invited the prayers of the Faithfull. The gifts were presented at the alter by sisters in law, Josephine Arsenault and Jean Firth. The crucifer was James Hogan and the candle bearers were Charles Bernard and Joseph DesRoches. The Eucharisti­c ministers were Louis Shea and Aggie Gaudet and The choir was under the direction of the Cantor Vincent Doucette. The organist was Antoinette Perry. The Procession­al hymn was Sing With All the Saints in Glory. The Psalm was Le Seigneur est mon berger; rien ne saurait me manquer. The Offertory hymn was J’ irai la voir un jour. The Communion hymn was I Am the Bread of Life. The Meditation hymn was Immaculate Mary. The song of fairwell was Songs of the Angels. The Recessiona­l hymn was How Great Thou Art. Members from the Tignish Council of the C.W.L who also formed an honor guard, as well as staff and Residents of the Tignish Seniors Coop Home Attended. The Pallbearer­s were Aubrey Arsenault, Tommy LeClair, Glenn Knox, Robert Arsenault, Floyd Arsenault Chad Gaudet. The flower bearers were Marsha Arsenault, Kate Cormier, Erin O’Cane. Interment was in the church cemetery with Rev. Brendon Gallant. On Thursday evening members from the Tignish council of the C.W.L held prayers for their departed member led by Laureen Handrahan with Scripture readings by Florence Gavin.
