- BY NICHOLAS OAKES

A first-over attack sealed the deal for Nogreatmischief in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Walter Cheverie engineered the winning trip in the $2,100 feature event aboard the sixyear-old son of Bettor’s Delight that he also trains and co-owns with John Thompson of Charlottetown. Nogreatmischief chased down tempo-setter Starcastic (Driven by Brian MacPhee) after fractions of 28.4, 57.1 and 1:26.3 then unleashed a 28.2 closing panel to win by a neck in 1:55.2. Elm Grove Kaboom (Earl Smith) got up for second with Narragansett (Jason Hughes) completing the triactor. Holy Molie Maggie landed in the winner’s circle in the top trot event of the night for a $1,700 pot. It was the first part of the Cheverie driving double feature sweep as he was in the bike for the 1:59.4 victory for coowner and trainer Jeff Holmes of Orwell and co-owner Trevor MacDonald of Vernon Bridge. Second place went to I Aint No Lady (Hughes) with Professor Gordon (Terry Gallant) getting the show prize.

Tempo Seelster won the $1,600 back-up pace in 1:56.2 to double up driver Hughes, who was at the lines for ownertrainer Vincent Poulton of Charlottetown. Simon Said (Cheverie) was second in the class with IDK (Ken Murphy) third.

Gary Chappell had a driving double on the card with Western Sexy in 1:59.2 for Jason Sherry of Kensington and Female Finesse in 1:58.1 for trainer William White of Murray River. Ken Murphy was victorious back-to-back in races 4 and 5 with Cajun Fiddle in 2:00.4 for trainer Mike Campbell and with Diamond Mine in 2:02.1 for Cindy MacDonald of Montague.
