Singing through summer

Mont-Carmel welcomes artists all summer long

- BY ALYSHA CAMPBELL

The Mont-Carmel summer concert series is in full swing for the 2017 season with shows every Sunday evening until the end of August.

Artists who will take the stage this upcoming Sunday are Kaylee Arsenault, Jonathan Arsenault, Krysten Cameron and her sister Kendall Praugh, Albert and Mona Arsenault, Jill Chandler, Louise Arsenault and the Joe Narcisse Family.

Originally from the Evangeline area, Kaylee Arsenault has been step dancing and singing for numerous years. The proud Acadian recently took on the role of step dancer in a show that presented all over France. Summerside sisters, Kendall Cameron and Krysten Paugh, have performed on numerous stages and when given the opportunity, never turn down an opportunity to sing.

The sisters will perform a few songs accompanied by Jonathan Arsenault.

The trio, Albert, Mona and Louise Arsenault are also set to perform, with their guitar, bass, and fiddle ready to go. They will perform a series of contemporary songs.

Known both at international and national levels, Louise Arsenault, is a fiddle fanatic and no stranger to the artistic community in P.E.I.

Louise will be joined by the Joe Narcisse family. This family that grew up knee-deep in music, with a fiddle-playing father and mother who played the pedal organ, music was their second language.

As Louise’s bow fires up the fiddle, feet will be tap at the Mont-Camel Parish Centre this week.

Her siblings Zelma Arsenault, Norman Gallant and son Jonathan Arsenault will be joining her on stage this Sunday as well.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. and doors of the MontCarmel Parish Hall will be open at 6 p.m. The public is invited to grab a seat early because seating is limited.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for members, $5 for students and free for preschoolers.
