Women’s Network accepting applications for Propelle

Propelle will run from Sept. 18 to Dec. 15 in Charlottetown

-

Women’s Network P.E.I. has secured funding for another year of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project program.

The organization recently announced its funding, which will allow the program to run Propelle, a free initiative with travel and childcare allowances available to eligible participants. It will run from September to December.

Propelle is a life skills and employment readiness program for women with a focus on traditionally male work sectors.

It focuses on four themes: personal development, employment readiness, career exploration and community engagement.

Confidence building, conflict resolution, group activities, learning styles and overall wellness are also priorities.

Participants will engage in activities, create friendships, build on their skills and develop new ones. They will also hear from employers, guest speakers and mentors in various fields.

“We are very excited to offer Propelle for a second year,” says program facilitator, Jaime Griffin. “We know that Propelle can have a big impact on the lives of participants and we are delighted to be doing intake for our new group this fall.”

Propelle will run from Sept. 18 to Dec. 15 with graduation on Dec. 1. The program will take place at 40 Enman Crescent, Charlottetown, and will run Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
