Ocean View Resort & Golf adds Desjardins

P.E.I. Ocean View Resort & Golf Inc. will add a local golf industry professional as the first part of its management team.

Starting Sept. 5, Dallas Desjardins will be employed as vice-president, working with Shi Zhong Liu as president with a three-year commitment. The Summerside resort aims to become one of Atlantic Canada’s premier resorts, including a luxury spa, specialty restaurants, with many amenities including a renovated golf course.

The facility is located overlooking the Summerside Harbour with direct views of the Northumberland Strait and the Confederation Bridge. Desjardins brings a long background in business operations and advocacy for the golf industry, including numerous accolades such as the 2011 PGA of Canada Professional of the Year for his contributions in sport development and increasing industry awareness in all government levels.

“We are fortunate to have one of Canada’s top industry professionals happened to live right in the city where our resort is located in and we’re able to hire someone locally,” said Liu. “Dallas’s business acumen accompanied by his connections and relationships through the Island will be valuable to finishing and opening the resort.

“This will be a great start to building our management team for future operations.”
