Confed Centre Youth Chorus set to kick off new season

-

Confederation Centre’s Choral Music Program launches a new season for the youth chorus next month, one that will include a tour to Florida and Walt Disney World in spring 2018, and a special appearance with the P.E.I. Symphony Orchestra to sing a new Canada Cantata in celebration of Canada 150.

The chorus, led by choral music director Donald Fraser, is currently seeking new members looking for an enriching creative experience that offers an excellent foundation in music, new friends, and travel opportunities.

The chorus provides P.E.I. youth, ages eight to 20 with a unique opportunity to develop their musical skills at home and abroad. The chorus performs regularly for a selection of seasonal concerts at Confederation Centre and in other community venues such as Trinity United Church in Charlottetown.

Chorus members have recorded two professional CDs and toured extensively, travelling in recent years to Italy, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Florida, Washington D.C., New York City, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

All youth are welcome to join the chorus in September. The chorus rehearses twice weekly with rehearsals every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. To register, contact Fraser at 902-628-6144, or email dfraser@confederationcentre.com.
