Fall Halls is a new music, storytelling and culinary event will debut from Sept. 7-10.

Fall Halls, a new music, storytelling and culinary event presented by Small Halls Inc., will debut Sept. 7 to 10.

In its premiere year, Fall Halls will include four events in partnership with Fall Flavours P.E.I. happening the first week of September. The events will take place in unique, rural venues on P.E.I., staying true to Small Halls Inc.’s goal of bringing events to community-based venues across the Island. Each event will highlight authentic Island tastes, traditions, and talent, providing audiences with a variety of experiences full of music, storytelling and food.

The first Fall Halls event is set for Thursday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Peter’s Courthouse Theatre. “Rose Cousins Unplugged” will be an intimate evening with Cousins combining her music and classic wit with a tasty treat.

The second event happens in a potato warehouse in Canoe Cove on Friday, Sept. 8, beginning at 8:30 p.m. “Fall Halls Presents Trinity Bradshaw” will involve a full band in concert for an evening of upbeat country music and fun. Bradshaw has had national acclaim as a songwriter, recently winning the Western Canadian Performer of the Year.

The Bradshaw concert is the musical portion of the Fall Flavours’ signature event Toe Taps & Taters, and includes a chef-inspired baked potato bar incorporating all the fixings. The option to attend the full Toe Taps & Taters culinary event, including a tour of the local farm and a farmer’s feast, is also available.

Fall Halls presents “Fish Tales” in the Alberton Heritage Centre on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. This will be a night full of Island stories, with music of fishermen and the sea, by Island musician, songwriter and storyteller Michael Pendergast and guest, Irishman Tom McSwiggan. Pendergast and his culinary family will also prepare their own signature dish, Acadian Oyster Pie, for guests to sample.

The final Fall Halls event takes place Sunday, Sept. 10. “Harvest Soupfest/Fall Halls” is an early fall afternoon event filled with music and an array of comforting, homemade soups at St. Mary’s Indian River Festival. This will be the seventh year for this fundraising event. Various restaurants and chefs create soups made with fresh, local ingredients. For the price of a ticket, guests can sample four different soups, served with homemade rolls and surrounded by music.

Tickets for all events are available online at www.fallhalls.com and from the Small Halls office at 1-877-478-2308.
