Rash B Havior controls pylons in holiday feature

Draws inside for first time in last four outings

A good post position can cure a lot of ailments.

After a quartet of outer posts, Rash B Havior will be able to determine his own fate in the feature on a special Labour Day card at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Monday.

The 13-dash card kicks off at 1 p.m., with Rash B Havior leaving off the rail in the Race 12 feature carrying a $2,100 purse. Owned and trained by Mike Peters of Emyvale, Rash B Havior has not drawn inside of five in his last four outings, but still managed a pair of wins to give him four on the season with a 2017 mark of 1:56.2.

Marc Campbell gets the catch-driving call in the afternoon top class as the sevenyear-old son of Lis Mara faces off with five rivals.

Old Buck has Post 2, with Gary Chappell getting the call to sit in the bike for trainer Alan MacDonald as regular pilot Jason Hughes drives his own trainee – Post 6 starter Narraganse­tt. Hughes was a winner in 1:57.2 in Old Buck’s latest outing while Post 3 starter D Bs Rosco is also sporting a win in his column from last week. Walter Cheverie will drive D Bs Rosco for trainer Robbie Shaw.

Adam Merner has Post 4 starter Zero Rate while Post 5 is occupied by Ultimately handsome, with Corey MacPherson in the bike for trainer Sifroi Melanson.

Newcomer

Race 7 has a newcomer to East Coast racing as Rojans White Jet leaves from the trailing Post 9 in the $950 event. The chestnut daughter of The Panderosa is now trained and owned by Clair Sweet of O’Leary after having recently been racing in the claiming ranks in Ontario.

Campbell will drive the fouryear-old at odds of 8-1.

The afternoon card will also be the final time for the $100,000 Dash For Cash promotion after being offered all summer at both Red Shores locations.
