Special story time coming to mark special occasion

- Rebecca Boulter Rebecca Boulter is the literacy and public services librarian at the Summerside Rotary Library at the Inspire Learning Centre.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m. the Summerside Rotary Library will be holding a special Family Storytime program to celebrate International Dot Day. International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration based on the book “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds.

“The Dot” is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark.” What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage that has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

All library members are invited to make their mark at the library as we prepare to celebrate on the International Dot Day.

Library members are invited to add to the collaborative artwork located at the entrance of the library main floor or create their own drawing or story to share.

All art and stories will be on display for the special Storytime program on Sept. 14. Similar International Dot Day programs will be offered at the Tignish Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. and at the Kensington Heritage Library on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. Visit the library and make your mark.
