Titles on the line
South African, Canadian championships at stake when Red Rock Wrestling returns to Stratford
The South African championship along with the Red Rock Wrestling title will be on the line on Friday in Stratford.
The bell is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Stratford Town Hall. Tickets are $20 at the door the night of the event but fans can save by purchasing their tickets in advance for $12 (kids and seniors) or $15 (adults). Advance tickets for the event are on sale now at Naturally Fit in Charlottetown and Phinley’s Diner in Stratford.
In recent events the Red Rock Wrestling champion, “The Big Picture” Chris Cooke has used questionable tactics to escape his championship defences with his title around his waist. The Red Rock Wrestling roster, most notably “Kowboy” Mike Hughes, looks to settle the score.
Other popular stars scheduled to appear at the event are six-foot-eight, 320–pound Brody Steele, Titus, Zack Doyle, “Youngblood” Cody Blayde, Lincoln Steen, Kirk Aubé, Riddick Stone and more!
At this time, Red Rock Wrestling president Jonathan Cairns has made two matches official. First, Markus Burke has issued an open challenge for his World Wrestling Professionals South African Championship. Burke won the title on April 16 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and he looks to see how the stars of Red Rock Wrestling measure up against the best from around the world. Also scheduled is a grudge match. On July 16 in Summerside, one of Canada’s fastest rising stars, “Youngblood” Cody Blayde was attacked from behind by the Answer, sending him flying off of the top rope and crashing down to the canvas. On Friday in Stratford, Blayde looks for payback when he goes toe-to-toe with The Answer.
Red Rock Wrestling is family friendly entertainment suitable for all ages. The promotion prides itself on providing clean entertainment for the entire family.
The event on Friday is a fundraiser for the P.E.I. Children’s Wish Foundation.
