POIRIER, RITA “MAMA TITA”

Surrounded by her loving family, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, September 21, 2017, of Rita “Mama Tita” Poirier, of Summerset Manor, Summerside, and formerly of Miscouche, aged 100 years. Born in Lynn, Massachuse­tts, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Carrie (Gaudet) Arsenault. Survived by her children Bonita Poirier, Carolyn (Peter) MacKean, Tony (Monica) Poirier and Monique (Scott) Kaye; 10 grandchild­ren; 10 great-grandchild­ren; a sister Teresa Murphy; and by a brother Aloysius Arsenault. Predecease­d by her husband Emmanuel Poirier; a sister Thelma Perry; and by brothers Martin, Hilary and Ernest Arsenault. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Miscouche. Visiting hours Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Autism Society of P.E.I. would be appreciate­d. Members of St. John the Baptist Church Catholic Women’s League, will hold a prayer service at the funeral home, Monday at 1:45.
