Two new Eptek ex­hibits un­veiled Thursday

SUMMERSIDE – Two new ex­hibits open to­day at the Eptek Art & Cul­ture Cen­tre in Summerside. Robert Mil­ner’s ex­hi­bi­tion, “Wa­ter,” in­cludes paint­ings of aquatic en­vi­ron­ments, draw­ing at­ten­tion to the pre­cious re­source – wa­ter. It will be on dis­play at Eptek Cen­tre from Oct. 12 to Nov. 24.

From Oct. 12 to Jan. 5, 2018, the ex­hibit “In­spired by Nightin­gale – Ded­i­cated to God: The Story of Ge­orgina Fane Pope” high­lights the life and ac­com­plish­ments of na­tive Is­lander Ge­orgina Fane Pope, renowned for her ground­break­ing ca­reer as a nurse and daugh­ter of Father of Con­fed­er­a­tion Wil­liam H. Pope.

The of­fi­cial opening of “Wa­ter” will be cel­e­brated Sun­day, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m., and “In­spired by Nightin­gale – Ded­i­cated to God” will be of­fi­cially opened on Sun­day, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. Eptek Cen­tre is open from Tues­day to Fri­day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sun­days. Ad­mis­sion is by do­na­tion. The per­ma­nent ex­hi­bi­tion on the his­tory and ar­chi­tec­ture of Summerside is also on dis­play.
