Two new Eptek exhibits unveiled Thursday

SUMMERSIDE – Two new exhibits open today at the Eptek Art & Culture Centre in Summerside. Robert Milner’s exhibition, “Water,” includes paintings of aquatic environmen­ts, drawing attention to the precious resource – water. It will be on display at Eptek Centre from Oct. 12 to Nov. 24.

From Oct. 12 to Jan. 5, 2018, the exhibit “Inspired by Nightingal­e – Dedicated to God: The Story of Georgina Fane Pope” highlights the life and accomplish­ments of native Islander Georgina Fane Pope, renowned for her groundbrea­king career as a nurse and daughter of Father of Confederat­ion William H. Pope.

The official opening of “Water” will be celebrated Sunday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m., and “Inspired by Nightingal­e – Dedicated to God” will be officially opened on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. Eptek Centre is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is by donation. The permanent exhibition on the history and architectu­re of Summerside is also on display.
