Banner season for little North Rustico theatre

-

It was a banner season for Watermark Theatre in North Rustico.

It was a banner season for Watermark Theatre in North Rustico which saw its 2017 summer season increase by 22.57 per cent over last year. Productions of “Barefoot in the Park” and “Mrs. Warren’s Profession” both exceeded expectations while season subscription passes jumped significantly. A one-week extension to the season was a contributing factor to the increase of sales but strong attendance throughout the summer for both productions also contributed. Word of mouth across the Island helped generate the productions’ success.

Artistic director, Robert Tsonos, who has been in the role for two years, is thrilled with how audiences have responded during his tenure. “We’ll just keep doing what we’re doing and continue to build our audiences as best we can,” he said.

“There was a real sense of excitement this year about our productions, and we continue to strive to the highest standards of excellence, and our patrons are really responding.” Watermark Theatre general manager, Andrea Surich said, “From our wonderful volunteers, box office and bar staff right through to our talented production team and acting company, everyone contributed to the success of the season. The local North Rusticans were also very supportive this year and we are so grateful for their continued support of our theatre.”
