Organization misidentified

-

I was pleased to see the great coverage on the annual Children’s Wish Foundation of P.E.I., Wishmaker Parade, in Monday’s paper... but it was short lived as I read on. Not once but “four” times it referred to the wish making organization as Make a Wish Foundation.

For the past 30 years the P.E.I. Childrens Wish Foundation has been granting wishes, only on P.E.I., to children with high risk, life threatening illnesses.

The P.E.I. Children’s Wish Foundation has also worked very hard over the past 30 years to create awareness of the Foundation so no P.E.I. child who fits the criteria is left out.

Over 20 wishes will be granted this year (which is far too many of our children having to deal with these life threatening illnesses) but isn’t it wonderful that the Children’s Wish is there to provide the bright spot to children and their families in what will likely be one of the most challenging times in their lives..

I read the one and one half inch square of the correction published by the Journal Pioneer but I doubt many others would have seen it.

How quickly the stroke of the pen/computer key can unravel so many years of hard work put in by executive director Beth Corney-Gauthier and the many volunteers of the P.E.I. Children’s Wish Foundation.
