Feel the ‘Rush’
Skilled musicians strum ’60s and ’70s hits in Summerside Nov. 15
Skilled musicians will pay tribute to Canadian rock band, Rush, when they take to the stage at the Harbourfront Theatre on Nov. 15. Classic Albums Live return to the Summerside venue, this time to perform the hits from the band’s “2112” album. There’s no costumes or gimmicks at the Classic Albums Live rock recitals, just pure musicianship as the greatest hits are played from the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Released in 1976, “2112” was Rush’s fourth album. It features a seven-part suite that constitutes a full side of the record, telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112.
This album marked the band’s first real commercial success that spiraled into platinum status.
Kieran Keller, Harbourfront’s executive director, says “The sheer talent and passion the performers in Classic Albums Live bring to their concerts is just incredible. We’ve had this group in before, and they are wildly popular with our audience, and deservingly so.”
The Classic Albums Live band has performed at the Harbourfront Theatre many times presenting various smash hit records including the Eagles’ iconic “Hotel California” album.
Fans of Rush are sure to enjoy the Classic Albums Live tribute to one of Canada’s iconic progressive rock bands. The event, “Classic Albums Live: Rush 2112” kicks off Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
