Johnny Reid com­ing to Char­lot­te­town

Chart-top­ping, multi-plat­inum, award win­ning singer­song­writer Johnny Reid an­nounced re­cently he will em­bark on a 2018 “Re­vival” na­tional tour that will in­clude Char­lot­te­town.

The Soul Providers and the group Glass Tiger will join Reid and his Big Band on the tour.

They will be in Char­lot­te­town on Fri­day, April 20, at the East­link Cen­tre.

With a ca­reer span­ning more than two decades, Reid has cap­tured the hearts of fans and au­di­ences around the world. The tour of 44 dates be­gins Feb. 26 in Bri­tish Columbia and in­cludes two-night stands in Sid­ney, B.C.; Regina and Saska­toon, Sask.; Ed­mon­ton, Alta.; Thun­der Bay and Toronto, Ont.; and Monc­ton, N.B. The Monc­ton stops on April 17 and 18 will be for all ages.

The tour is in sup­port of Reid’s new al­bum “Re­vival,” avail­able ev­ery­where now via Uni­ver­sal Mu­sic Canada.

His pub­lic­ity agency says “a crit­i­cally ac­claimed vo­cal­ist, the blue-col­lared, soul­ful singer­song­writer, Reid is widely known for his lyri­cal hon­esty and mu­si­cal abil­ity, as demon­strated by his ex­ten­sive cat­a­logue of hit songs, al­bum sales to­talling over 1.5 mil­lion units, count­less awards and mul­ti­ple sold-out na­tional arena tours.”

His new al­bum “Re­vival” is co­pro­duced by Reid and Bob Ezrin who pro­duced for KISS and Alice Cooper.

“Re­vival” is Reid’s first col­lec­tion of new ma­te­rial since “What Love Is All About” re­leased in 2015.

Reid is a six-time Juno Award win­ner and 26-time CCMA Awards re­cip­i­ent.

For the Char­lot­te­town con­cert, doors will open at 6 p.m. for the show that starts at 7 p.m.
