The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, November 25, 2017, with her loving family by her side, of Edna Margaret Gaudet, of the Tignish Seniors Coop Home, Tignish, age 98 years. Beloved wife of the late Francis Joseph Gaudet. Born at Harper Road, P.E.I., on August 9, 1919, she was the last surviving family member of the late Peter and Margaret (nee Ryan) Harper. Loving mother to Roland (Jean) of Ajax, Ont; Peter (Ann) of Tignish; Arthur (June) of Broderick Road; Leonard of Tignish; Wayne (JoAnne) of St. Felix; Angela (Lennie) Handrahan of Hogan Road; Linda (late Lambert) Gallant of Tignish; and Betty Ann (Floyd) Gaudette of Tignish. Cherished grandmothe­r to Arlene, Kelly, Jennifer, Kim, Sonny, Todd, Adam, Tyler, Cody, Aaron, Jonathan, Scott, Trevor, Alden, Holly, Shianne, Tasha, Tanya, Tanner, Chancy and Chelsey. She is also survived by her 42 great-grandchild­ren. She was predecease­d by her husband, Francis, in 2010, her son, Sonny, in 1969, her son-in-law, Lambert Gallant, in 2016, and by siblings, Joseph, Ella, Vinnie, Bernice, Ethel, Gilbert, Albert, Harold, Arthur, Emmett and Roland. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel Alberton, for visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 2 p.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Restoratio­n Fund or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciate­d.
