The gift of reading

- Rebecca Boulter Rebecca Boulter is the literacy and public services librarian at the Summerside Rotary Library at the Inspire Learning Centre.

The P.E.I. Public Library Service is partnering once again with the P.E.I. Literacy Alliance and local food banks for the third annual Gift of Reading Holiday Book Bank Program.

From Nov. 27 until Dec. 18, public libraries across P.E.I. will be collecting new and very gently used books for children and teens.

The books will be included in Christmas Food Hampers and distributed all across P.E.I. by local food banks. Give the gift of reading to an Island child this year.

Coffee or tea can be purchased for $1.50 a cup. Library users can either use the provided cups or use their own reusable container after paying at the circulation desk on the main floor. As with the Friends of the Library Book Sale, all proceeds from the sale of coffee and tea will go to support library programs and initiatives.
