‘Missing Christmas’ Musical

New Glasgow Christmas Choir presents musical play, “Missing Christmas,” at New Glasgow Christian Church, Route 258. Humourous and surprising retelling of Christmas story. Admission free but donations will be used to send stable full of animals to World Vision village for world’s neediest children and their families.

The Docherty Family’s “An Island Christmas Tradition” concert will be returning to the Summerside Presbyteri­an Church on Victoria Road on Sunday.

Since 1995 this Island musical family has been making annual stops this time of year in communitie­s from East to West and all points in between. The Docherty Family band has been helping Islanders kick off the holiday season with their popular Christmas shows for 22 years.

Consisting of Kendall Docherty on lead vocals and keyboard; Jason Docherty on vocals and bass guitar; Timothy

Docherty on guitar; their father George Docherty on vocals, rhythm guitar, fiddle, harmonica and accordion; as well as drummer Peter Burke.

At the Dec. 3 show in Summerside, the Docherty family and friends will be presenting traditiona­l Christmas favourites with songs like, “I›ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Silent Night,” “An Old Christmas Card” as well as some carefully selected holiday stories guaranteed to warm your heart as we approach the Christmas season.

The concert takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is at the door. There will be refreshmen­ts available.
