Festival des fêtes starts Thursday
Four holiday activities happening at Village musical Acadien
This year, the Village musical Acadien in Abram-Village will celebrate the holidays with four major activities brought together under one event – the “Festival des fêtes.”
The festival will begin with a French dinner theatre entitled “Le marriage d’Élizabeth” to be held three evenings, Dec. 7, 9 and 14, at 6:30 p.m. This comedy is about a grandmother who wishes to see her granddaughter Elizabeth find a husband and get married during the holidays. With the help of her friends, the grandmother plots to get her way. The play will end with a musical Christmas party and maybe a wedding? On Friday, Dec. 15, from 8 to 10 p.m., there will be a Christmas sing-along during the Chase the Ace draw. Jeannita Bernard, accompanied by a few other local artists, will lead the crowd in singing traditional Christmas songs.
For several years now, the Village musical Acadien has been hosting a big Christmas concert for the whole family. This year, the Jos Narcisse family, accompanied by Hélène Bergeron and Shane Arsenault, will present the concert, entitled “Christmas Memories.” This show will take place on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. In case of a storm, the concert will be held the following evening, Dec. 18, at the same time.
Finally, the Village musical Acadien will host a New Year’s Eve party featuring the musical band Misty Water. During the evening, an all-you-can-eat buffet will be offered. Music will begin at 10 p.m. and doors will open at 9 p.m.
All activities will take place at the Village musical Acadien in Abram-Village. For more information and ticket reservations, call 902-854-2072.
