Police continue crackdown on Hells Angels
Prospect club members arrested
A man wearing a Hells Angels prospect vest has been arrested for assault. Members of the P.E.I. Organized Crime Task Force arrested Shawn Paquet, 29, of Charlottetown, for breach of undertaking in addition to assault. Police say Paquet was involved in an altercation with a man at a Charlottetown bar on Dec. 2 while wearing his Hells Angels prospect vest with the Prince Edward Island bottom rocker.
Paquet was released on condition he have no contact with any Hells Angels members. He will appear in court on Jan. 18.
Police also arrested a second member of the P.E.I. Hells Angels Prospect club for two incidents of breaching an undertaking, which included having no contact with Paquet. A third member of the club had been arrested for breaching his undertaking in an unrelated

Both were released after their arrests.
Police plan to conduct foot patrols in local bars in the Charlottetown area to monitor the activities of organized crime groups.
“Bar patrols have been used successfully in other jurisdictions to effectively curtail violence, intimidation of members of the public and drug trafficking associated to these groups that occurs in and around licensed establishments,’’ says the RCMP in a statement.
Police are urging the public to report any suspected activities involving organized crime by contacting the local policy agency or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. “Combatting organized crime in our communities is everyone’s responsibility, so please do your part to help keep our communities safe and keep police forces updated with information,’’ says the RCMP.

The P.E.I. Organized Crime Task Forces is comprised of representatives from Charlottetown Police Services, the RCMP, Summerside Police Service and the Kensington Police Service.
