FENNESSEY, LEO FRANCIS

The funeral for the late Leo Francis Fennessey, beloved husband to Wanda ( nee Barnett) Fennessey of Tignish was held on Wednesday January 3, 2018 from the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel Alberton to St. Simon and St. Jude Church Tignish where funeral mass was celebrated at 10: 30 a. m. by the Rev. Brendan Gallant who delivered the Homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The Pall was placed over the casket by wife Wanda and children Carolyn, Francis and Lonny. The Pascal candle was lit by grandson Jeremy Gaudet. The gifts were presented at the alter by granddaugh­ters Jyllisa Gaudet and Emily Fennessey. The first reading was addressed by daughter Carolyn Gaudet. The second reading was addressed by daughter in law, Cindy Ellsworth who also led the assembly in the prayers of the faithfull. The Eucharisti­c ministers were brother Percy and sister in law Joan Fennessey and James Hogan. The Crucifer was Richard Shea and the candle bearers were Clarence Gallant and Charles Bernard. The Alter server was James Hogan. The cantor was Vincent Doucette. The organist was Diane Handrahan. The procession­al hymn was Here I Am Lord. The psalm was The Lord is My Shepherd. The Communion hymn was Silent Night. The Song of fairwell was Songs of the Angels. The recessiona­l hymn was How Great Thou Art. The Pallbearer­s were Ricky Brennan, Floyd Keefe, Randy Gavin, Jamie Fennessey, Aaron Barnett, Kenneth Gaudet. The flower bearers were grandchild­ren Emily Fennesey and Carson Fennessey. Everyone present for the funeral liturgy were considered to be Honorary Pallbearer­s. Interment will later take place in the church cemetery.
