The Funeral for the late Anita Susan Barrett, beloved wife of the late John H. Barrett of Alberton, was held on Monday January 1, 2018 from the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel Alberton to the Sacred Heart Church Alberton , where funeral mass was celebrated at 2 p. m. by the Rev. Andrew MacDonald who delivered the Homily and had the prayers of final commendation and fairwell. The first reading was addressed by Anita’s daughter, Ann Arsenault. The second reading was addressed by Anita’s son John Barrett. Cory Gallant led the assembly with the prayers of the faithfull. The Eucharistic minister was Jean Cahill. The Crucifer was Irving Broderick. The candle bearers were Emile Bernard and Joseph Callaghan. The music for the funeral liturgy was provided by Vocalist and Guitarist, Bill McKinnon, nephew of Anita. The pianist and vocalist was Danallee Veinnotte, Vocalist and Harmonicist was Allan Morrison. The processional hymn was Amazing Grace. The psalm was The Lord is my Shepherd, The offertory hymn was How Great Thou Art. The Communion hymn was I Am the Bread of Life. The recessional hymn was The Old Rugged Cross. Attending the funeral were former staff from the Western Hospital Alberton. The pallbearers were Steven Barrett, Roy Arsenault, Cory Gallant, Cecil Allen, Andy Perry, Lee Ann Davies. Interment was in the church cemetery with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating.
