Express defeat Storm 125- 116

The Windsor Express finished strong to defeat the Island Storm 125- 116 Saturday in National Basketball League of Canada action at the Eastlink Centre. The Storm held quarter leads of 30- 24, 70- 68 and 98- 93, but was outscored 32- 18 in the final 12 minutes.

Chad Frazier had a game- high 26 points for the Express while Logan Stutz had 24 and Braylon Rayson chipped in 23. Shaquille Keith had 12 points and 11 rebounds while Frazier and Stutz each hauled in 10 boards and Maurice Jones scored 16 and had 10 assists.

Chris Johnson led the Storm with 20 points while Franklin Session had 17 and Du’Vaughn Maxwell 16. Tyler Scott had 15 points on 5- for- 9 shooting from behind the arc. The Storm missed 10 of its 22 free throws in front of a crowd of 1,748.

Dal beats UPEI 5- 2 in important game

Colton Heffley and Tanner Williams each had a goal and an assist to pace the Dalhousie Tigers to a 5- 2 victory over the UPEI Panthers Saturday at MacLauchla­n Arena.

The Tigers picked up the key two points as the two teams are in a battle with Moncton for the final two playoff berths in the Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey conference.

Former P. E. I. Rocket Kelly Bent shorthande­d, Mike Evelyn on the power play and Alex Pawelczyk also scored in the victory. Chandler Yakimowicz, Myles McGurty, Luke Madill, Aiden Jamieson and Reid Murphy had assists.

Darcy Ashley on the power play and Cody Payne scored for the Panthers with Gabe Guertler drawing assists on both goals. Chad Labelle and Kameron Kielly each added a helper.
