Madigane scholarship
Aleah MacLennan (left) and Pam MacKinnon (right), of the Stewart Memorial Healthcare Auxiliary, recently presented the group’s annual Dr. Joyce Madigane Memorial Scholarships to Robyn Doran and Darren Hansen. Doran is a fourth-year nursing student at UPEI, Hansen is a secondyear medical student at Memorial University. Dr. Joyce Madigane served the Tyne Valley area as a family doctor and medical director of Stewart Memorial Hospital for nearly 40 years before her death in 2014. Olivia Phillips, a third-year nursing student at UPEI, who was not present for the presentation, was also awarded the scholarship.
