#ChooseSummerside geared up for Olympics

Summerside is getting ready for the Winter Olympics and cheering on the city’s hometown hero and Olympian, Heather Moyse. #ChooseSummerside, an initiative of the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce, is capturing the excitement of the winter Olympics by asking local businesses to get into the spirit by decorating storefronts and offices, and encouraging staff and customers to wear red and white. The chamber is asking local businesses to promote #SmallCityBigFans on their social media channels, e-newsletters and signage to get their subscribers and followers on the Olympic wave.

“We want to colour Summerside in red and white. Let’s support Canada’s athletes!” states the #ChooseSummerside team. The #ChooseSummerside team will be doing surprise drop-in visits with snacks and prizes for participating businesses.

Participating in this initiative means companies are eligible to win a grand prize of two hours with two-time Olympic gold medalist in bobsleigh, Moyse.
