Vipers drop pair of games against NBJHL teams

The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers dropped a pair of games in interlocking action versus New Brunswick Junior Hockey League teams over the weekend.

The Kent Koyotes outlasted the visiting Vipers 7-5 on Saturday night, and the Cap-Pelé Predators pulled out a 5-4 decision at Community Gardens on Sunday evening.

Alexi Guitard scored twice and earned an assist while Marcel Newcomb contributed three helpers to pace the Predators. Kyle Furze, Chad LeBlanc and Kevin McGraw collected single tallies while Christian Gregan had two assists.

Riley Gallant (1-1), Jesse Jay, Parker Ronahan and Nick Bouchey answered for the Vipers, who are 11-14-4 (won-lostovertime losses) in the Island Junior Hockey League. Garrett Murray (2), Tyler Gallant, Logan Vandervelden, Campbell Gallant, Kyle Pinksen and Spencer Sherren were credited with assists.

Mathieu Landry earned the goaltending win, and Rett Rook was between the pipes for Kensington. Overall, the Predators held a 39-36 shots-on-goal advantage.
