For past two weeks

-

The Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League named its top offensive and defensive players for the past two weeks on Wednesday night.

For the week of Jan. 31 to Feb. 6, Brydon Smith of the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces was named the offensive player of the week, with the defensive award going to Southside Lynx goaltender Sean MacPhee.

Smith registered a hat trick and two helpers in the Aces’ regular-season finale. Smith finished the regular season of his rookie campaign with 34 points, good for fourth in team scoring.

MacPhee recorded a 12-save shutout over the Georgetown Eagles. It was MacPhee’s 10th win, and first shutout of the season.

Grady, Gallant recognized

For the week of Feb. 7 to 13, Southside Lynx forward Drew Grady was recognized as the top offensive performer while Summerside Cover-All Crunch goaltender Connor Gallant took the defensive honour.

Grady, who recorded seven points in his first junior C playoff game, has picked up 34 points in 11 games since joining the Lynx.

He played the first half of the season with the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers of the Island Junior Hockey League.

Gallant has been busy of late, and played all three games for the Crunch during the week. He stopped 87 of 96 shots for a .906 save percentage in the three contests, including a split against the North River Flames in the first two games of the best-of-five quarter-final series.
