A shot in the dark for peace

-

I don’t know what to say – another mass school killing. Does blaming it on “mental illness” give us a way in which we can solve this problem?

That’s absurd. This isn’t about mental illness. This is about guns. It is about a mentality that is so separate from all other countries.

Yes, all other countries. The United States has more guns and more mass killings than any other country. And they call themselves a civilized country. How ironic. They have this understanding that they are above all the other countries in the world yet they are the only ones where school shootings are out of control.

So what is a “civilized” country? It’s obviously not the USA.

They lower the flags but is doesn’t change the situation or the obvious continued killings in the future. I am speechless, disheartened, and mad at the same time. Canada, do not look south of the border for examples of how to live. We are who we are because we are not the USA. We have values, we have morals, we have compassion, and passion for life. To allow a government to continue in the vein of this particular one is to condom gun violence. How can this be acceptable in any age? I know that many citizens of the U.S. are contrary to all of this, but the government is still in power, that makes them all complicit. When injustice is allowed to go without a shout out to justice itself then who can have any respect for them. Maybe what the U.S. needs is for a country like Canada to stand up and shout them down. Guns are not fundamental to life on this earth. They are a detriment. This has to stop. Canada, this is your time to speak up – no guns. Guns kill. Is that what you support?
