Chase the Ice down to five cards
Jackpot for Western Capitals and Slemon Park draw is up to $32,000
Almost one year ago, on March 8, the Western Capitals Booster Club and Slemon Park Plex, two not-for-profit groups, teamed up to announce their Chase-The-Ace-type draw called “Chase The Ice.” What was different about this chase draw, was the ability to purchase tickets online from anywhere on P.E.I.
This is proving to be a useful method of buying tickets as interest in the draw increases as the Ace pot grows. This week’s pot is estimated to be worth $32,000.
“Like most of these type of draws, it has been in recent weeks with the amount of remaining cards getting low that we have seen more and more people using the online feature,” said Cecil Gallant, vice-president of the Capitals Booster Club.
The club uses the 50/50 Central computer system, so whenever someone purchases a ticket, their phone number is entered. When the computer draws the winning number, it automatically tells them the phone number belonging to the winning ticketholder. Tickets can be purchased online at https:// chasetheice.5050central.com. They are also available at various outlets in Summerside including Bernard’s Quik Mart, Slemon Park Kwik Way, Mel’s Convenience, front desk at Credit Union Place and at Capitals home games.
The deck is currently down to just five cards as no one has been able to find the Ace of Spades yet. The next draw for the now-$32,000 pot will take place at the Capitals home game on Thursday, March 1. Ticketholders do not have to be present to win.
“If your number is drawn and you can’t make it in, a member of the Capitals Booster Club will flip the card for you,” added Gallant. For ticket prices and more information, visit the Chase The Ice Facebook page.
