Claddagh Oyster House is People’s Choice for WinterDine 2018
The Claddagh Oyster House was the Charlottetown restaurant with the WinterDine People’s Choice Menu for 2018. WinterDine is a popular winter dining festival, which runs for three consecutive weekends in January and February. Participating restaurants offer three-course menu, designed specifically for WinterDine by some of Charlottetown’s most talented and creative chefs, at either a $28 or $38 price point per person.
This year WinterDine featured 21 of Downtown Charlottetown’s most popular restaurants, Claddagh Oyster House being one of them. During Winterdine people vote online for their favourite Winterdine Menu. All menus are posted, complete with photos, on the Winterdine website.
“Claddagh Oyster House’s chef, Mitchell Jackson, created three amazing Winterdine menus, featuring offerings from both land and sea,” said Dawn Alan, executive director of Downtown Charlottetown Inc. “We are pleased to award them the 2018 Winterdine People Choice Menu Award.” Chef Mitchell graduated from the culinary program at Holland College in Charlottetown in 2005. Since graduating he worked at the Merchant Man Pub in Charlottetown, Dalvayby-the-Sea and the Whalesbone Oyster House in Ottawa, before he was hired as executive chef for the Claddagh Oyster House and the Olde Dublin Pub. Located in the same building as the Olde Dublin Pub, Claddagh Oyster House is a casual, fine-dining restaurant featuring fresh seafood year-round. COH showcases premium P.E.I. beef, seafood, chicken, pasta dishes and an extensive wine list.
