Bridges, Armstrong pave Canada’s way

Canada finishes undefeated in pool play, earns berth in semifinals at Paralympic­s

Rob Armstrong and Summerside’s Billy Bridges led the way with two goals apiece and helped Canada’s Paralympic hockey team to an 8-0 win over Norway on Monday at the Paralympic­s in South Korea.

The Canadian finished 3-0 in the preliminar­y round in Group A and move on the semifinals. Canada will have to wait for the end of prelims on Tuesday to find out the opponent Armstrong added an assist for a three-point performanc­e, while Brad Bowden, Tyler McGregor, and Liam Hickey had a goal and a helper each. Dominic Larocque earned the shutout victory, while Kjell Christian Hamar suffered the loss.

Canada outshot Norway 27-5, including 14-0 in the second period, and went 2-for-4 on the power play.
