Guilty conscience

On April 23 at about 11:45 a.m. East Prince RCMP received a call of a two-vehicle collision on Route 1A in Bedeque. One vehicle, driven by a 71-year-old male, was heading eastbound when a westbound vehicle crossed the centreline and side-swiped him. The 33-year-old driver of the other vehicle did not stop but later returned to the scene to apologize. He was issued three Highway Traffic Act tickets. Nobody was injured.

New driver fined

On April 23 at 6:30 p.m., West Prince RCMP attended the parking lot of the Tim Horton’s in Woodstock for a minor collision. The 17-year-old driver was blinded by the sun and pulled out in front of the second vehicle. Nobody was injured but the graduated driver was fined under the Highway Traffic Act.

Charged for threats

On April 23, at about 8:30 p.m., West Prince RCMP received a call from a 23-yearold female stating that her father had been threatened by a 29-year-old male in Alberton. Police attended the Alberton rink where the female and her father were waiting. The 29-year-old male was charged with uttering threats and mischief and is scheduled to attend court in June.

Cattle lost in fire

On April 24 at about 5:15 a.m., West Prince RCMP received a call of a barn on fire in Alma. Numerous fire department­s attended. A significan­t amount of cattle were lost and the barn was completely destroyed. The fire is not deemed to be suspicious and the fire marshal was unable to determine the cause.

Patrols stepped up

On April 24 at approximat­ely 9:15 a.m. East Prince RCMP were made aware that the town of Kinkora was getting numerous complaints of high school students speeding and passing each other in the 50 km/h zone on Route 225. This is mostly happening at school dismissal time. Extra patrols have been initiated in response to the complaint.

Car windows smashed

On April 26 at 7 a.m., East Prince RCMP received a call from a resident of Miscouche advising that the windows of two vehicles parked in his driveway were smashed overnight. The matter is still under investigat­ion.
