June offers learning opportunit­ies at Summerside Rotary Library

Upcoming programs and events at Inspire Learning Centre

- Rebecca Boulter Rebecca Boulter is the literacy and public services librarian at the Summerside Rotary Library at the Inspire Learning Centre.

Staff from the University of Prince Edward Island will offer a free informatio­n session on the Bachelor of Integrated Studies program on Monday, June 4, at 6 p.m. The Bachelor of Integrated Studies program is a flexible degree for mature students designed to accommodat­e the personal, educationa­l, and career goals of adult students, most of whom already possess diverse learning and who study parttime.

Preschool children and their families are invited to the library on Thursday, June 14, at 10:30 a.m. for a special Storytime with a Paramedic program. Meet a local paramedic and learn about their job while enjoying stories and rhymes.

Libraries across P.E.I. will once again be participat­ing in the national TD Summer Reading Club program. The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests and all abilities. The theme for this year is “feed your passions.” Join us for the Summer Reading Club Launch Party on June 23 at 11 a.m. and register for the free program. Daily events for various ages will start July 3 and run for eight weeks.
